Melissa & Mike were a true #covidcouple with a true #coronviruswedding. Guys, 2020 hit them hard. With three venue changes, a timeline shift, and a last minute (like, literally the night before) loss of their groom getting-ready space… woof. But what I love about these two is how they landed back on their feet after every hurdle this year threw in front of them and always had their eyes on the prize. Once the day was finally under way, everything was spectacular. They each got ready at their childhood homes and got to have their closest friends and family watch in awe and tears as they promised to always put each other first and let their love continue to persevere.
Melissa did a total of three first looks! First with her dad in her stunning Pnina Tornai ballgown before we left for the ceremony. Then, during cocktail hour, she changed into her super secret second dress – a custom-made Morilee that only her mom had seen prior to the wedding day. After her mom and I helped her get into the second dress, we did an impromptu first look with her girls (who were floored, of course) before heading out to the courtyard for a surprise first look with Mike. Mike didn’t know about the second dress at all and Melissa planned the surprise by telling him that she wanted to fake a first look for photos since they didn’t have a chance to do a real one before the ceremony. When Mike turned around, Melissa somehow looked even more gorgeous than she had when she came down the aisle. Guys, I don’t know which first look hit me the hardest, but I was tearing up all day!
Thank you for having me be a part of your wedding day. The connection you two share is out of this world and I literally kept saying out loud all day how obsessed you two are with each other. It’s infectious to be around and truly feels like when you two lock eyes, it’s like there’s no one else in the room. You are two of the kindest and most genuine people I know and I am beyond happy that you finally get to call each other husband and wife. I know the journey to your wedding day wasn’t like anything either of you expected, but it all came together and was such a beautiful day that I’m so grateful to have been involved in.
