Fall Vineyards at Aquebogue Wedding, Long Island | Charlotte & Tom

I wound up at Charlotte & Tom’s wedding by chance after a photographer I’d looked up to for about a year posted that she was looking for someone to assist her at a wedding 2.5 hours away from where I live. After second guessing my own qualifications compared to her incredible talent, I decided to just let her know I was interested and see what happened. Within hours, Tori Kelner emailed me back ready to work together and just a few days later, I was off to share a hotel room with a photographer I’d never met in person (don’t meet strangers from the Internet at hotels far from home, kids. This one worked out for me though….) and photograph a wedding the following day. Super grateful Tori didn’t end up being a murderer – she actually has now become one of my closest photographer friends and I am so grateful for taking that huge leap of faith!

Charlotte & Tom’s wedding was nothing short of perfect. While Tori spent the morning with Charlotte and her girls, I hung out with Tom and his buddies. These guys are some of the kindest and most welcoming bunch and they knew how to have a good time. After everyone was dressed and ready, the boutonnieres were pinned on, and gifts were passed out, Tom took a quiet moment to read the card Charlotte had hand-written for him earlier that morning. In the midst of joy and anticipation, this quiet moment was so special to witness. After that, it was off to get married.

Vineyards at Aquebogue is a gorgeous wedding venue on Long Island’s North Fork wine country. Charlotte & Tom’s outdoor ceremony took place right next to a duck pond, manicured flower beds, and even had chickens scampering around – a perfectly appropriate detail since Charlotte & Tom have chickens of their own at home. I loved that their flower girls came down the aisle in a cute little wagon! Everything about this wedding was romantic and upscale, yet laid back and perfectly them – so much so that I was able to get that feeling even after only having just met them that morning!

Charlotte & Tom,

I am beyond excited for the life you two are about to embark on. I absolutely loved getting to know you both. You are two of the kindest and purest souls and you deserve all the happiness life can bring you. Thank you for trusting Tori and me to capture these incredible moments and memories. Congratulations, newlyweds!!!
xx Kim
